FYI:  For some reason the entire recording was not posted, but it will be up very soon, so stay tuned for my entire recording.

Did you get a chance to check out the hcg article in the AZ Republic?  Any thoughts? I have some, and if you are interested in going through the article with me then simply click the play button below.  The audio is not edited nor formally put together.  It is just my real interpretation of the article after reading through it for the second time.  I speak only for myself.  I felt that the article was not clear in who uses hcg for weight loss, and so I hope you will hear some other thoughts regarding the popular diet.

This was an unfortunate article for all naturopathic physicians that practice smart medicine. Let me first start off by being very clear, naturopathic physicians are not the only physicians using hcg with their patients for weight loss.  The misconception that MDs do not approve of hcg for weight loss purposes is the dumbest thing I have read all month, maybe even all year.  Just Google it, there are plenty of MDs using hcg for weight loss.

Now do not get me wrong, we all must practice medicine in a responsible manner, sticking to our principles, and keeping the health and safety of our patients as our top priority.  Physical exams, blood work, and in-depth consultations are only a few of the important things we should be doing for our patients to ensure the best care possible, because remember doctors, you went into this medicine to help people!

  • The six principles of Naturopathic Medicine:
  • First Do No Harm - primum non nocere
  • The Healing Power of Nature - vis medicatrix naturae
  • Discover and Treat the Cause, Not Just the Effect - tolle causam
  • Treat the Whole Person - tolle totum
  • The Physician is a Teacher – docere
  • Prevention is the best “cure” - praevenire

Disclaimer: this is not a pro or anti HCG review. This is simply to go through the article written for the AZ Republic and discuss some of the points not mentioned or quickly breezed through in the article. There is much research suggesting positive benefits to using HCG.  I will be attending the AZNMA conference this month, and the HCG diet is a hot topic that will be discussed, so I will keep you informed of what I learn.  Stay tuned, because I have a feeling  this is only the beginning  of the HCG discussion.
